INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS
Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) is a type of psychotherapy that helps individuals understand and heal their inner selves. It is based on the idea that everyone has different parts within them, each with its unique characteristics and emotions. IFS aims to help individuals identify and communicate with these parts, leading to greater self-awareness and emotional healing.
SELF ENERGY
Self-energy in IFS therapy refers to the internal state of the client that is characterized by calmness, clarity, and compassion.
It is the part of the self that is able to observe and regulate the other parts of the psyche.
Our work helps you to access and strengthen self-energy, which can lead to healing and transformation.
PROTECTORS
Protectors are parts of the self that have taken on the role of protecting the individual from emotional pain or trauma.
These parts can manifest as anger, anxiety, or other defensive behaviors.
In IFS therapy, we work with these protectors to understand their underlying motivations and ultimately integrate them into a more cohesive sense of self
EXILES
Exiles refer to the parts of ourselves that have been wounded or traumatized in some way and have been pushed away or exiled from our conscious awareness.
These parts often carry intense emotions and beliefs that can impact our behavior and relationships.
In IFS therapy, together we can access and heal these exiled parts, leading to greater self-awareness and integration.
